Rooms & Facilities

The Family Crosspoint centre is purpose built and furnished to CIW standards, so it is perfectly designed to be used as a multi-functional residential family unit.

We can have up to 12 families with us at any time, spread over the two floors. Each family is allocated a comfortable, safe and private place for them to make their own while they are with us.

We also have communal rooms and treatment rooms that are designed to maintain our high confidentiality standards while providing comfort and break-out space for users.

Our facilities in detail include:

Family bedsits

We have five family bedsits, all of which have all the essentials for a family to live comfortably during their stay. For sleeping, each room has a double bed, a single bed and a cot. We have also installed child-friendly low temperature radiators to ensure they are warm and cosy.

There is also a chest of drawers with baby-changing table, a wardrobe, a bedside table, a mirror, comfortable chairs to relax in and a TV with all the latest freeview channels.

Every bedsit has a fully operational kitchen including a microwave, fridge freezer, kettle, toaster and a family-sized dining table with chairs.

One of the bedsits is equipped for disabled residents, featuring an accessible kitchen and dining area, a disabled toilet with baby changing facilities and a pull chord alarm system.

Communal lounges and play areas

These rooms (four in total) on the ground floor create plenty of room for adults and children to relax and play without getting in each other’s way. They have comfortable sofas and chairs, coffee tables, a TV with all the latest freeview channels, bookshelves full of things to read and many toys and games.

Laundry room

Equipped with multiple washing machines, tumble dryers, irons and ironing boards, this room ensures all residents have the facilities to wash, dry and iron their family’s clothing. As high-quality household machines they are relatively simple to operate, though our staff are on hand to demonstrate how each of the machines works if need be.

Family bedrooms

On the first floor, there are seven secure family bedrooms. These rooms are very similar to the downstairs bedsits. The major difference is that they have a shower and toilet facilities rather than a full bathroom suite. Also, to avoid cramping the rooms with dining and kitchen facilities, residents in these rooms will have access to shared facilities.

Communal kitchens, bathrooms, dining and activity rooms

These large, fully-equipped rooms are shared by first floor residents. They give families the chance to cook, eat, wash, relax and play together outside of their own private bedrooms.

Other facilities

Every living area in the centre has an internal telephone system. This allows residents to instantly reach support staff should they need to, without leaving the room they are in. We also have secure Wi-Fi throughout the centre. Residents can access it free of charge.
